⇒ Day 1: Fes » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Midelt » Ziz Valley » Sahara Desert

First day of your tour to the Sahara Desert from Fes for 3 days. Moving on from your accommodation in Fes toward the Sahara Desert, the first stop is ”frane, also known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Ifrane is this European-style little city with some of the best snow tourism going on in those days, but Moroccans probably spend their weekends here. Down the road is the first stop to the majestic Cedar Forest, the endangered Barbary macaques’ haven. The Macaques migrated from Gibraltar and took the forest as their home one day. Feeding is allowed, but caution is cautioned.

Onward to Midelt: In addition, that is a nice town between the Middle Atlas Mountains. After breakfast served at the desert, you have the choice to either ride back to the village with camel or by 4×4. The exploration of this fascinating town is such an interesting one. Here the local’s Hospitality and Welcomeness never ends. Berber people have been settled in this place for centuries and offer guests a glimpse into their traditional and culture lifestyle.

First is to visit Khamila Village. The black-skinned also built their village after coming from Sudan, Mali, and South Africa but now they live here – in Morocco. Inside the village we will visit one of the most ancient Music associations within their hallmark of Gnawa Rhythms. Upon your entry a glass of tea will be given to you; as a welcome, it says. It’s one of the traditional ways of welcoming in the the Village and the whole country.
